What does it cost to become a Madriella Certified Doula?
Madriella does not charge per course, we charge a membership fee to join the network.
That membership enrollment fee covers the cost for the courses. You do not have to pay for each course-you only pay the one-time enrollment fee.
There are two membership levels to choose from:
Level 1: Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula
This membership level grants access to the online Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula Certification courses. The membership is valid for three years and costs $150.
Level 2: Professional Membership
This membership level grants access to ALL of our courses, including the online Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula Certification courses, the Professional Development course, Massage for the Laboring Woman, Certified Childbirth Educator, Madriella Breastfeeding Educator, and Placenta Specialist The membership is valid for three years and costs $300.
We do offer a $50 a month/payment option for Professional Membership
In addition to the membership fee, each course requires textbooks. You can see what book is required for each course on this list.
The Professional Development certification also requires you to have a valid CPR/First Aid certification, Bloodborne Pathogens Certificate, and a Safe Food Handling certification. These can be done online very inexpensively. You do not need to have them when you enroll, but they need to be completed as a final part of the Professional Development course.
Cost to renew the membership
After the three years you can renew your membership for $100 if you retake the Birth and Postpartum Doula courses, as well as Professional Development course at that time. This allows us to keep our members current as we update the curriculum.
