Madriella Does not Revoke Certifications
The Madriella Certification is conferred upon passing the certification examination and can no more be taken away than we could force them to forget what they learned.

However, members of the Madriella Doula Network that fail to follow the Standards of Practice or Code of Ethics may be found to be “in poor standing” and may have their names removed from the network directory.

Complaints about Madriella Doulas
Any interactions between a mother and a Doula are private transactions and we are not involved and will not become involved. You must deal directly with your Doula.

If you feel a Doula has acted outside of the Madriella Standards of Practice or Code of Ethics you can file a formal grievance.

The Birth Doula course is the foundational prerequisite course that all of the other courses build on. It must be completed in order for you to move on to the other courses.

If you are paying for your Professional membership in monthly payments, you will not be awarded a certification until the entire membership fee is paid. If you have completed the program in less than six months and you would like to pay off the remaining balance, you can do so at any time. Just contact us and declare your intent to do so and we will confirm it with you via telephone before charging the remaining amount.

Please be aware that we do not give refunds.

Enrollment Space is limited, once you enroll you are occupying a space that is reserved for you. For this reason, the Madriella Doula Network enrollment fee is non-refundable.

These are online courses and it is your responsibility to ensure you have the means of accessing the courses that you have paid for.

Please note that both the Birth Doula and the Postpartum Doula courses are designed to be an “entry level” Doula curriculum, so if you have been a practicing Doula for years and do not find them challenging you should not ask for or expect a refund.

Monthly Payment Option
We do allow our Professional Level applicants to make their membership payment over 6 months. Once the payment plan is in place, the student will be charged each month. If at any time the student wishes to cancel their membership they may do so by contacting us and this will stop all future charges to their credit card in addition to closing their account in the website. No refunds are given for previous charges if the student cancels their membership.

Declined Cards
Please remember to keep your payment information up to date. If your payment card is canceled due to being lost or stolen it is your responsibility to notify us and to provide a replacement card number.

In the event that your card is declined when your payment is due you will be contacted by email with a request for you to update your payment information. You will also be unable to login to the program until your current monthly payment is made.

If the card is not updated by the next payment due date (approx. 30 days) the entire remaining membership fee will be due.

At that point, failure to pay the full outstanding portion within 5 business days will result in the student being dropped from the program and all progress will be lost.

Charge-Back Policy
If you institute a charge-back (complaint to your credit card company that the charge was not authorized or you did not receive the service) we consider this to be an attempt to defraud our company. You will receive a failing grade for any courses you are currently enrolled in and you will be dismissed from the Network and will not be re-admitted in the future.

Statement of Nondiscrimination
The Madriella Doula Network does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, caste, creed, sex, age, marital status, national origin, mental or physical disability, political belief or affiliation, pregnancy and pregnancy-related condition(s), veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, genetic information, natural and protective hairstyle and any other class of individuals protected from discrimination under state or federal law in any aspect of the access to, admission, or treatment of students in its programs and activities.

Your digital certificate of completion and transcript
The certificate of completion does not arrive immediately after taking the exam, we need to make sure the entire tuition has been paid before we email it out, and this could take up to 24 hours. If you are making monthly payments on your membership you will not receive your certificate until the full amount is paid off.

Multiple Purchases of the Same Courses
If you click “submit” or “pay now” more than once in the check out you may be charged more than once. Please don’t do that. If you click “submit” or “pay now” and nothing happens CALL US so we can determine if your payment went through.

If You did not get your Certificate/Transcript
If for some reason you took and passed the exam but did not get your certificate or transcript just contact us and tell us what day you took it and which course it was and we will take care of it immediately.
