The Madriella Doula Network is excited to announce the release of our newest advanced specialty training: the Fertility Doula Certification Program.
For years, members have asked for additional education focused on fertility support. As more individuals and couples face challenges related to conception, fertility treatments, pregnancy loss, and reproductive health concerns, the need for knowledgeable, compassionate support has never been greater. This new program was created to help Doulas confidently serve clients during this often-overlooked stage of the reproductive journey.
The Fertility Doula Certification Program is an 18-hour advanced training course designed specifically for Doulas who wish to expand their knowledge and provide informed, ethical, and supportive care to clients navigating fertility challenges.
What You’ll Learn
This comprehensive program explores:
- Reproductive anatomy and physiology
- Fertility awareness and cycle tracking
- Common fertility challenges and diagnoses
- Assisted reproductive technologies (ART), including IUI and IVF
- Emotional resilience during fertility treatments
- Supporting clients through loss, miscarriage, and setbacks
- Nutrition, lifestyle, and holistic fertility support
- Stress management and mind-body techniques
- Collaboration with healthcare professionals
- Building a fertility support practice
- Real-world case studies and practical applications
The course emphasizes the unique role of the Doula in providing emotional support, education, advocacy, and compassionate guidance while remaining within the appropriate non-medical scope of practice.
No Required Books
One feature we are especially excited about is that there is no book requirement for this program. All required instructional materials are included directly within the course, allowing students to begin immediately without purchasing additional textbooks.
Included with Professional Membership
Current Professional Membership students already have access to this certification program as part of their membership package. There is no additional tuition required for Professional Members.
Students enrolled in the Basic Membership who wish to take the Fertility Doula Certification Program may upgrade to Professional Membership to gain access to this and all other advanced specialty courses offered through Madriella.
Prerequisites
Because fertility support builds upon the foundational skills taught in our core programs, students must first successfully complete:
- Madriella Birth Doula Certification
- Madriella Postpartum Doula Certification
before beginning the Fertility Doula Certification Program.
Expanding the Continuum of Care
Traditionally, Doula support begins during pregnancy. However, many families need guidance and encouragement long before pregnancy occurs. Fertility Doulas provide emotional support, practical education, and compassionate care during a period that can often feel isolating and overwhelming.
By adding fertility support to their skill set, Doulas can extend their services across a broader spectrum of reproductive care and help clients navigate one of the most important journeys of their lives.
We are proud to offer this new certification and look forward to supporting the next generation of Fertility Doulas.
If you have already completed the Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula programs, we invite you to begin your Fertility Doula Certification journey today.
