The Exercise
With this simple exercise, your client is sitting with her back to a wall. She slowly and gently lifts her arms upwards wither her fingers “crawling like a spider” up the wall.

Purpose
Like the “Upper Back” exercise, the purpose of this is to move slowly and gently stimulating the blood flow to the muscles of the upper back, shoulders, arms and neck. The slow, gently motion sends a signal to the brain that the muscles of the shoulders and neck do not need to be tensed, that everything is okay. Your client may say something like “It doesn’t feel like I am doing anything?” and that’s the point, it is telling her muscles it’s time to relax.
